An Evening With A Twist

His footsteps echoed evenly on the hard granite slabs. Darkness had fallen over the city in the sea. Fog rose slowly and inaudibly from the canals. He had got off the Vaporetto at the Fondamente Nove stop and was now walking along Calle Cappuccine Castelle. There were only a few people out and about at this time of day.
